Oregon Department of Forestry

The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) was my group’s client for our J480 (Strategic Social Media) class where we conducted a social media audit, listening/monitoring conversation analysis, competitor analysis and influencer identification report. These components resulted in a social media strategy and plan that was presented to ODF at the end of the term.

Team members: Jaden Gill, Kennedy Gregory and Amanda James

Listening/Monitoring Analysis, Competitor Analysis and Influencer Identification

Midterm report slide deck cover.

In this report, our team listened to and monitored conversations relevant to ODF that occurred on various social media platforms which allowed us to gain a clearer understanding of ODF’s audiences. Based on the data and insights we gathered from our conversation analysis, we identified social media competitors to pay attention to and influencers of different sizes that could be worth contacting.

Social Media Audit and Strategy

In this report, our team conducted an audit of ODF’s owned media to understand how its currently using social media as a tool. We then made recommendations on expanding or adjusting its social media efforts by creating a strategic social media plan and strategy that could be implemented within organizational limitations (e.g., low budget/funding).
